Whoa, Happy New Year!

***Woooowwwwww, DA this is why I hate you. Every single time I go to write a new journal, I go to change what I listening to and it accidentally erases what I just spent 15 minutes writing, gone forever! HHHHaaaattttteeeeee!!!!!***
Anyways, I was just wanting to say hey! I'm going to be more active here since running an art tumblr at the same time as my personal is too bothersome, and I'm going to post some art that's been back logged. So don't be surprized if you see me around a bit in the next coming weeks.

So it's been a few weeks since AN 2012~ I'm still recovering from all the excitement, all the running around, and all the drama (not too much) that comes from attending such a big convention and with a large group! This year marked theeee....8th? I'm pretty sure 8th year that I've attended AN. Every year is a new experience, and always different from the last.
This year was the first time I was present on the Thursday, that's when we checked into our hotel. It was a long morning for us. The group I commuted with was made up of myself, my dear friend Susan and my youngest brother Dustin. This was his first time going! So that made it especially fun. Anyways, finally got there, checked in, met up with two of the rest of our party, we went for delicious, delicious japanese food at Sushi-Ya, and then went to the pre-reg event! Which consisted of standing in a huge line for two hours, but luckily we got everything we needed before they cut off the line, which I heard about after the fact. I hope some people had the right words for certain people concerning that...
Friday is when my precious partner showed up~! This year I was dressed as Barnaby Brooks Jr. and my bf was Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, both of Tiger&Bunny respect. Friday was quite the ordeal, as maybe a few of you that attended AN heard, the Holiday Inn at 600 Dixion had a huge evacuation in the morning. It was all due to a mysterious substance being detected in the Perkins restaurant that is attacthed to the hotel. We were all freaking out when the fire alarm went off, thinking it was because we had left the iron on in our room! I wish. We were kicked out of the hotel for a good two hours while we were trying to get read for the day. So as we stood around outside, some of us in wig caps and half done make-up, others in nary but a towel, eventually we got fed up and ventured down the street to grab some food. By the time we got back, they were allowing us back in, thank god.
We finished getting ready (takes a long time with so many of us) and made our way to the con centre. The chain of events were as follows: arrive at centre, ho fuck that line is huge, some of us hold spot in line, rest of us cosplayers wander about, get ice cream, get back in line, get into dealer's room, do a quick scan, do a quick scan of artist alley, try to find out where Nomi is going to be, get into another long line for Nomi, pick up some cool things, go pick up commission, run back to hotel, get ready for Moonlight Ball, head to Ball, cut out early to go to panel (man, totally worth it) head back, pick up lil'bro, go back to our hotel, crash.
Whew~ And that was just Friday!
I'm not going to go into a big huge thing like that for the rest of days, but it was a great time as it normally is. Saturday was more Tiger&Bunny for James and I, Sunday was the Lolita Tea Party, so I wore a comfy sweet lolita co-ordinate, and had a great last day.
Glad AN is over, but I'm already planning for the next one, lol. Trying to play close to home the rest of year too. Attending a local cosplay picnic next month, attending the Centre Island Cosplay Picnic as well (super excited for that, trying to get my next big cosplay ready for debut there/test run) and maybe FanExpo. Also thinking of getting a table at a new baby con in September~
I know I promise this everytime I post a new journal, but I promise to keep you all updated over the summer! D: I really do promise!

Quick Status Report

Quick because I just spent the last hour on a nice, heartfelt one to get all of you guys caught up on my life, only to lose it all when the preview window was pop-up blocked. Biggest FML of my life right now. So completely frustrated, this is why DA is now impossible, I fucking swear.
Regardless, been busy with life at home. Working, trying to save, trying not to lose all my sleep over crazy family happenings. Busy with preparations for Anime North 2012.
Will try to re-do this later when I'm not feeling like throwing my laptop across the room into the wall.

Better Late Than Never - AN 2011 Report!

Okay, so!
You guys know me, I'm not good at updating, lol. But I figured I would at least make a small report on the happenings of my favourite event of the year
Things went pretty well this year as far as preparations went. The last few years, cosplay is always finished the very night before and usually it's a very late night. But I managed to finish both of our cosplays the Wednesday night before the con! SCORE! The bf and I (SirAuronPD) actually got to cosplay this year, although we went through a lot of ideas before settling on what we could actually do. We didn't get to cosplay last year so we were really psyched! So we decided on Dr. Franken Stein and Medusa from Soul Eater (totally got my revenge on him for the Kamina tattoos, lol)
Anyways, friday morning we were running a lot slower than I wanted, which was to be expected because bf cannot get out of bed on time to save his life. Got dressed, put on wigs, spent an hour on my tats, packed the van and we were on our way! We got to the con a lot faster than expected and got a good spot in the pre-reg line. Fuck was it ever cold on friday! And miserable, but our spirits were high because Stein and Medusa was recieved well instantly! Yays! After getting our reg stuff and going through weapon's check, we walked over to the Holiday Inn to meet with our (also late rising) friends; Shinigami-Koi, WaterlilyDesigns and Jenny. They got dressed and we freshened up/adjusted fussy wigs, and then spent the rest of day chilling looking at all the great cosplays. Around 6, SirAuronPD and I had to get ready for the Nominoichi. The organization was a little crappy at the start, but it was the first time it was being held at the TCC so that was to be expected. Eventually our very awesome tablemate (and my good friend) dark-demo made it and the show was on the road. The Nomi was pretty successful this year, and I almost sold my whole suitcase which was awesome! It was late and rainy by the time we were done, so the bf and I just went home for the night.
Saturday was kinda a blur, but I finally managed to visit DeesDilemma at her AA table, which was very cute and I totally miss her! She gave me a button and a muffin
The Dealer's Room wasn't anything special this year (as usual) and I was saving my money for Sunday anyways. Picked up my Lolita Teaparty Tickets at the DT, then went to the Soul Eater photoshoot at 3. It was a lot of fun and it was in a really handy spot. It was out of the way of traffic (foot and otherwise) and it wasn't too muddy. And the sun came out! But it burned! Burned me so much! And of course no one had sunscreen because the last week had been rainy and shitty non-stop. So needless to say, at the end of the day I had a really interesting sunburn on both my arms, lol. My friend Jenny and I both did Medusa so we had matching sunburns! It's finally starting to fade! xD
SirAuronPD, WaterlilyDesigns, Jenny and I then went to have dinner at th Sushi-ya. Although it was really slow getting in, getting seated and finally getting our food, it was super yummy! I had beef udon and veggie tempura ...*drools* Afterwards, we met up with dark-demo and we went to a few anime showings at the DT. It's been way too long since I watched the dub of Chobits... UNDERPANTS, UNDERPANTS, UNDERPANTS! xD I was also supposed to meet up with DeesDilemma to go to the 404's performance, but by then I was really tired and not feeling so good by then T.T She was super understanding though.
Ah Sunday! The last day! Most of it was spent running around, and car keys running around, but then we got to relax by going to the Lolita Teaparty later that day. Before that was the Lolita Swapmeet though. Luckily I RSVP'd, so I was able to go in before regular attendees and check out the wares. There were so many beautiful dresses but I didn't have much to spend, lol. But I think I made out like a bandit, got a new adorable dress, new brand hairbow, and a cute offbrand double hairbow, all for under 100$!! The teaparty was really nice, and it was also nice to meet some of the girls involved in the so_lolita community in person ^u^ All the people at our table were super awesome too, and I even made a new friend After the party, we decided to head home since the con had officially been done around 5ish.
All in all, it was an eventful and a really fun year, and I'm already planning for next year! Can't wait!

Anyways! I got a virus on Monday this week! And anyone who knows me personally knows that I'm not very tech savy, so this virus was utterly crippling to me. It was a some sort of Trojan that popped up acting like my Vista (iknowiknowvistasucks) antivirus software, saying that I had a million malware problems and the only way to get rid of it was to "buy" this new software. Of course I knew it was bullshit, but it had already gotten in my system and disabled all my REAL antivirus programs ; n ;
So first I cried, haha. And then got cleaned up and took out my frustrations on an innocent block of lino. I'll be posting my sampling from my block printing in the next few weeks now. But after trying several system restores, one finally stuck :'D So all software is now updated and optimal! No repeats please!
And of course this has to happen the week before the week before the finals, haha, try to say that fast.
Anyways, good luck to everyone in these stressful times!
